It is a great way for our local community to celebrate our nation’s Birthday. It is disappointing that most people focus on the one negative. Leaving a fireworks event will always take a while because everyone wants to leave at the same time. I’m glad our community hosts a July 4th event and puts up with the complainers. (Full Story) |

One expert Sergeant- at-arms indicated they most recently buried flags because it took up to 12 hours to burn the number of flags they had. If you wait once a year to burn them, I can see that point ... but to bury the flags ... this was a new one on me. I have never in my life heard of burying the flag. Last Updated: 2:29 PM 07/02/10 - “I have a difficulty understanding how or why Rockdale County allows some roads to get in such bad shape. Kinnett Road off of Ga. 20 South is just terrible and really needs attention. The road needs to have yellow dividing lines and the washouts need to be filled in on this heavy traveled road. I have almost been sideswiped several times on the sharp curve. Maybe the yellow lines would at least make drivers more aware. Help SPLOST!- (Full Story) |

Small government, less government is the most recent battle cry. Well, step up to the plate and answer this. If the founding fathers had it so right then why was marijuana legal? The No. 1 cash crop when Ole George Washington was in charge was hemp. That is right, ole George was puffing way while he crossed the Potomac, uh Delaware, uh Hudson or whatever it was.
