Tony Bunn, an employee at the Rockdale County Public Schools bus maintenance facility on Main Street, checks a windshield wiper on one of the buses in the RCPS fleet. Bunn, along with six fellow mechanics are responsible for keeping the school system’s fleet of 198 buses and other vehicles running each day. Every bus is inspected every 20 days from top to bottom and annually by the Georgia Department of Public Safety. The RCPS Transportation Department has received top ratings from those annual state inspections for more than eight years, according to Cindy Ball, RCPS director of community relations.
