CONYERS — An armed robber did without the conventional mask and simply used what he had in order to disguise his appearance during a local convenience store hold-up.

The robber who had the shirt he was wearing pulled up over his mouth and nose went in the Great Mart convenience store on Ga. Highway 20 on Sunday evening, according to Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office incident reports.

The suspect, described as a black man in his 20s, reportedly entered the store, went behind the counter and pulled a handgun out of his jacket. There were no customers in the store at the time. The store clerk told RCSO authorities that the assailant pointed the weapon toward him, demanded money and threatened to kill him.

The robber made away with the clerk’s cell phone and an undetermined amount of cash from the register and cash box.

The clerk last saw the robbery suspect get in the driver’s side of a black sport utility vehicle parked next to the pay phones, according to the incident report, and headed southbound on Ga. 20.
