Hoops for Heart

Hightower Trail Elementary School fifth-grader Andrew Tanner competes in a shootout against Shawn “The Weatherman” McCoy, an ISS teacher, during the school’s Hoops for Heart event Tuesday morning. Teachers and students competed to raise funds for research and programs through the American Cancer Society to reduce heart disease and strokes and bring awareness to their risk factors. The group aimed to raise $2,500 this year; last year, the school raised $2,000.
