Man in jail after ruckus

CONYERS — “Cream and sugar” should be the only words said by patrons, according to Rockdale County Superior Court Judge David Irwin, who set a bond for a man accused of throwing objects and shouting profanities inside the local Starbucks.
Donte Kimbro, 30, of Decatur was arrested last month and charged with aggravated stalking in connection with an April incident. He asked for a bond reduction in court Tuesday morning.
The victim, Kimbro’s girlfriend, worked at the Starbucks, located on Ga. Highway 138. Kimbro allegedly came in the coffee shop, started swearing to store employees and demanded that the victim come out into the lobby. During the disturbance, Kimbro allegedly got a child’s car seat and threw it into the business, Assistant District Attorney Debra Sullivan told the court. The public argument continued outside the building with Kimbro screaming and cursing at the victim.
Sullivan added that Kimbro violated a DeKalb County protective order that was served on the day before the incident and Kimbro was not to have any contact with the woman.
“That’s a matter where a person is told to have no contact with somebody. This person has had contact with that person and it was violent in nature ... the state’s concerned with the safety of the victim in this particular matter,” Sullivan said.
Kimbro’s bond was set at $75,000.
Public Defender Mark Hinds, Kimbro’s attorney, pointed out that Kimbro was employed and Hinds asked for a bond reduction given that his client has no felony criminal record.
“Judge, he has no chance of making a $75,000 bond. We just feel this is an exorbitant amount,” Hinds said.
“I know, but the conduct at a Starbucks,” Irwin told the defense counsel. “Allegedly throwing a child seat? And saying bad words? I mean really, cream or sugar. That ought to be all that’s ever said in a Starbucks.”
Hinds told the judge that the argument originated from a dispute concerning child support.
Irwin responded by saying the public coffeehouse was “not the appropriate venue,” and the couple could have taken up the issue in court, “not a child seat at a Starbucks.”
Bond was reduced to $5,000 by the end of the day Tuesday.

It doesn't matter what the dispute was about. What if someoneone would have been hit by what he threw? Starbucks wasn't the time and place for him to act like a two year old having a tantrum because he wants to force a conversation upon someone.

Before making comments or assumptions about things lets get the full story first. I happened to know these people and it didnt go down the way it seems so judge Erwin had every right to reduce his bond. It jus goes to show that the system has no idea wats goin on. The dispute was not over child support at all. True enough starbucks is nor the time or place for that but things happen and people are forgiven.
