CONYERS — The sixth suspect in the seven-man crew that robbed a local fast food restaurant at gunpoint last month has been taken into custody.

Jamal Junyard Woods, also known as “DuWoop,” 29, of Atlanta was transferred to the Rockdale County Jail on July 23 after Fulton County authorities arrested him. Fulton County law enforcement picked up Woods on a July 19 bench warrant for possessing a firearm while on first offender probation status.

Woods faces armed robbery and burglary charges in Rockdale County stemming from the June 13 incident at the Wendy’s restaurant, located at 1655 Ga. Highway 138, where two gunmen broke through the restaurant’s glass door after closing, pushed a female employee to the ground and stole the night deposit bag.

Conyers Police arrested five men between June 14 and 18. The five men were Calvin Leon Chambers Jr., also known as “Callietto,” 22, of Atlanta; Randall Lee Peterson, also known as “Lotto,” 21, of Alpharetta; Javonte Terrel Jackson, also known as “Rockman,” 19, of Covington; Jamonte Quinshawn Hambrick, also known as “MoeMoe,” 17, of Decatur; and Derontay Goolsby, also known as “Slimbo,” 18, of Atlanta.

Woods and Goolsby were the suspected gunmen in the heist and the other men allegedly knew about the robbery and served as lookouts.

“He (Woods) is what we would consider the ring leader in this,” Capt. Scott Freeman said.

Police are still looking for an unidentified man that authorities think was also involved in the crime.

Rockdale County Superior Court Judge David Irwin set bond earlier this month for Hambrick, Jackson and Peterson at $75,000 each. The judge also imposed a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew, if the men make the bond.

Bond was denied for Goolsby.

Chambers, represented by a private attorney, is out on a $25,000 bond.
