Mrs. Dorothy F. Scheaffer, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord, on Oct. 23, 2005. Loved by many, she was born on July 23, 1927, to Walter J. and Leila Farmer. She was a devoted member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church who served her Lord faithfully. She was a loving foster parent of over 43 children. She is survived by her children, Michael and Mary Scheaffer; Sharon and Randy Thomas; Sheila and Royce Davis; Tim and Lisa Scheaffer; Ricky and Kathy Scheaffer; Shannon and Rachel Scheaffer and Susan and Sean Bankston, all of Conyers; grandchildren, Stephanie Hancock, Natalie Elliott, Melanie Greene, Cameron Thomas, Kevin and Brandon Rowland, Jessica and Bryan Scheaffer, Jake, Cole and Helena Scheaffer and Ashley Scheaffer; great-grandchildren, John Michael and Haley Hancock, and Taylor Elliott, Elizabeth, Kathleen and Samantha Greene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, her sisters, Hazel Christian and Rachel Turner; and her brother, Guy Farmer. She leaves sisters Janie Eubanks of Conyers, and Edie Johnson of Stafford, Va. A celebration of her life was held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, Conyers, Ga. Rev. Dan Wilson and Rev. Thomas Moon officiated. Interment was in the Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery. Wheeler Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
