Frances Cornelia Langley

Frances Cornelia Langley, age 81, of Conyers, Ga., died Sept. 19, 2005, at Cyprus Court in Decatur, Born in Campton, GA, in 1924, Mrs. Langley was a devoted wife and loving mother, a long time employee of Emory University Hospital, and an active member of First Baptist Church of Lithonia, where she cared for children in the church nursery for over 20 years. She was a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Langley was preceded in death by her husband, William W. (Bill) Langley and is survived by three sons, Dwight and wife, Becky Langley of Conyers, Gary and wife, Crafton Langley of Atlanta, and Dan Langley of Lawrenceville; four grandchildren, Kelly and husband, Wendell McMurrain of Smyrna, Dax Langley of Athens, Whitney Langley Carroll and husband, Byron of Lawrenceville, Warner Langley of Duluth; sister, Lona. Thompson of Watkinsville; four great-grand children; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lithonia, Dr. Jim Martin officiating, Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Red Cross, P.0. Box 97089, Washington, D.C., 20090-7089, American Cancer Society, 2200 Lake Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30319, or the Jim Martin Scholarship Fund, c/o First Baptist Church of Lithonia, P.0. Box 378, Lithonia, GA 30058. The family will receive friends today, Sept. 21, from 4-7 p.m. at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA, 404-292-1551.
