Anna Hazel McElheney Starr, age 87 of Conyers, GA. went home forever to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 13, 2006. She was born in Monticello GA. to the late James Herbert McElheney and Ethel Mae Polk McElheney on July 22, 1918. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 69 years, Waldo Bowden Starr; son, James Marvin Starr and his wife Gay Blackwell Starr of Cumming, GA; sister, Lillian McElheney Simmons of Moulton, AL; 7 grandchildren, James Marvin Starr Jr. of Cumming, GA, Holly Marie Starr Styles of Cumming, GA, Oscar Joseph Zeller II of North Augusta, SC, Michael Jonathan Zeller of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Pamela Beth Starr Webb of Gainesville, GA, Patricia Lynn Starr Davis of Conyers, GA, Conson Wilson Starr Jr. of Conyers, GA; 15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Hazel was predeceased by one son Conson Wilson Starr of Conyers, GA, on August 21, 2004 and one daughter, Marie Bowden Starr Zeller of Jacksonville, Fl. on October 15, 1993. Mrs. Starr was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church and she was very devoted to her family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Conson Starr's wife Marry Starr and Conson Starr's daughter Pamela Webb whose love and kindness allowed Hazel the dignity she deserved and made her struggle so much more bearable. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Scot Ward's Harry L. White Chapel at 3 pm with Pastor Joe Hughes officiating; interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.ScotWard.com.
