Mr. Hulon Hodges, age 86, of Mansfield, died February 1, 2007. Mr. Hodges was born in Newton County on August 28, 1920 to the late Willie H. and Clara Belle Thompson Hodges. For many years he was the operator and manager of the Hub Bus Station, having worked there before becoming the manager. During the time he had the bus station he also worked for the Newton County School System as a bus driver. After twenty plus years he retired in 1985. Mr. Hodges also managed Atlanta Speed Shop Dragway for several years. During all this time and even after retirement, Mr. Hodges found time to do what he seemed to enjoy the most and that was raise commercial cattle and hay on his farm in Mansfield. Many residents of the area have enjoyed fishing in the family's two lakes located on Hodges Circle. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Mrs. Geneva Few Hodges of Mansfield; sons, Mr. William (Bill) Hodges, of Mansfield, Mr. Michael S. Hodges, of Oxford; daughters, Mrs. Brenda H. Cason, of Mansfield and Mrs. Kathryn H. Wheeler, of Social Circle; brother, Mr. Eugene (Bud) Hodges, of Mansfield; sisters, Mrs. Verna Almond, of Brunswick and Mrs. Lois Hamrick, of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Wayne Glaze, Kevin Glaze, Linda Dial, Michelle Faith, Larry Cason; great-grandchildren, Taylor Dial, Zachary Hulon Faith, Justin Dial, Aubrey Cason, Peyton Cason, Clay Porter, Will Porter and Ben Porter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Hodges will be held Sunday, February 4, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. from the chapel of Harwell Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Standard and Rev. Richard Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Carmel Cemetery in Mansfield, GA.
