Helen W. Patrick, a longtime resident of Oxford, Georgia died at the Abbey Hospice in Social Circle after complications resulting from a fall. She was 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. (Pat) Patrick and daughter Linda P. Wise. She is survived by her sons Jim and Lynda Patrick of Oxford and Gary and Jan Patrick of Oxford; her son-in-law, Henry J. Wise of Atlanta; her grandchildren Ronnie and Jamie Patrick of Suwanee, David and Ranate Patrick of Snellville, Steven Patrick of Clarkesville, and Amanda and Allen Ashby of Flowery Branch; and her great-grandchildren Sarah, Caroline, William, Sammy and Matthew Patrick. Helen loved her church, Covington First Presbyterian where she was an elder and was active in the Presbyterian Women. She also served as volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Hospital Auxiliary. She used her talent as a pianist, playing for programs at Covington Manor and other nursing homes. She lived for the last two years at the Merryvale Assisted Living home in Oxford. The family will receive visitors at the Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, November 9th at the Covington First Presbyterian Church with Reverend William B Wade officiating. Mrs. Patrick's remains will lie in state at the church from 2:30 to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Covington First Presbyterian Church.
