Hazel R. Hopkins of Jackson, died November 13, 2007, at the age of 83. Born in Walton County to the late John Howard and Pearlie Short Prickett, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hopkins loved all kinds of work, especially cutting grass. She also loved gosepl music. Mrs. Hopkins was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Hopkins, Jr. Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Kenneth Ward of Oxford, Connie and Hugh Stuart Cooper of Jackson; grandchildren, Barry Cooper, Phil Cooper, Dawn Goering, David Ward; great-grandchildren, Austin Cooper, Logan Cooper, Madison Goering, Christian Goering, Cole Goering, Landon Ward, Colin Ward; sisters, Eva Dodson of Grand Rapids, MI, Betty Roesser of Fair Oaks, CA. Funeral services for Mrs. Hopkins will be held Friday, November 16, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Dr. Tom Drake, Rev. Greg Butler and Rev. Shawn Nix officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
