Mr. Lloyd (Buddy) Jett passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the age of 70. He was born in Haralson County, GA. He served in the Army from 1961 through 1963. He moved to Conyers in 1964. He was a member of the Free Masons. He was a Past Master of Philogia Lodge in Conyers before transferring to the Blue Lodge #84 of Lithonia. He was also a member of the St. Bernard Commandry #25. of Covington, GA, and Mt. Moriah Chapter #63, W.S. Rockwell, and Grant Park Chapters R.A.M. He retired from Kraft Foods at the age of 53 and enjoyed many years of spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He enjoyed taking them boating, fishing and on many sightseeing adventures. He is survived by his loving Wife of forty-five years, Mildred Jett, Daughter and Son-in-law, Donna and Bryan Ballard, of Conyers, Granddaughters Kaitlin Ballard, Christie Needham and her fiancé Adam Kasper of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Needham and her fiancé Bradley Martin of Cleveland, GA. Sister and Brother-in-law Nellie Ruth and Danny Dobbs of Decatur, GA, Brother and Sister-in-law Edward and Betty Jett of Griffin, GA. Brother Frank Jett of Griffin, GA and sister-in-law, Marry Jett of Griffin, GA., several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by His parents Charley and Evia Jett of Lithonia, GA. Sisters Barbara and Jeanette Jett, and Brother Alford Jett. He also leaves behind many friends. He was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. The viewing will be held Friday, February 15, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 16 at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home.
