Mr. Luther Hestle Brock age 86 of Covington died Tuesday, January 8, 2008. He was born in Lee County Georgia on June 2, 1921 to the late William Luther Brock and Mary Avelene Seay Brock. Mr. Brock recently attended Hope Baptist Church in Conyers and Centennial Baptist Church in Rutledge. He was a former longtime member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Conyers. He was an avid rose gardener. He was deeply loved by his family and many friends. Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years Necie Mae Brock and a grandson Steven Ray Strange. He is survived by daughters: Shirley (Strange) Cooper of Covington, Trudy Smith Coady of Porterdale, Darlene Smith Padgett of Madison; niece: Yvonne Mogyorossy of Covington; sister-in-law: Bernice Brock of Riverdale; grandchildren: Michael Strange, Lori Brothers both of Covington, Malena Roosa of Conyers, Michelle Bryant, Joe Padgett both of Madison, Angela Wilder of Crawfordville and Tony Hillis of Gurley, AL.; many nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Brock will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 10, 2008 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Wilburn Hill and Rev. Phil Wages officiating. Interment will be in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Wheeler Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. 770-786-7111
