O. H. Brooks, age 97 of Social Circle, formerly of Rockdale County, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, September 14, 2008 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Elder Eugene Gunter officiating. Interment to follow at Haynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Loganville. Mr. Brooks was a retired truck driver with Georgia Highway Express, a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving as a Sergeant in Communications, a member of VFW Post # 5290 & a member of American Legion Post # 77 both in Conyers. He is preceded in death by his first wife: Carrie Bell Spruell Brooks, second wife: Annie Maude Westmoreland Brooks; daughter: Betty Carolyn Shiretzki; 2 brothers; 4 sisters. Mr. Brooks is survived by: Grandson: Michael Shane Shiretzki, Lavonia, GA; Great Grandchildren: Thomas & Casey; Brother: Fred Brooks, Gwinnett County; Step-Children: Annette Lee, Powder Springs; Mary Clark, Conyers; Lois Ebehardt, Oxford; Benny Stephenson, Social Circle; Billy Stephenson, Oxford; Many Nieces & Nephews. The Family will receive friends from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville, GA 30052, 770-466-1544.
