William Henry Atkinson, age 80 of Covington, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Nell Atkinson, Covington; son, Paul & Florence Pierce Tucker; daughters, Gail & LaVaughn Harper, Lafayette, AL, Margie Hornsby, Stockbridge, Carol Davis, McDonough; daughters, Patty & Steve Redding, Cumming, GA; daughter, Pam & Randy Whitfield, San Diego, CA; son William Henry, Jr. & Shawn Marie Atkinson, Plano, TX; daughter, Janice & Robert Tennent, Homer, GA; three brothers and one sister; twenty grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Atkinson was of Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2009 at Scot Ward's Harry White Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at North Atlanta Memorial Park at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com .
