Nix, Marjorie Tyler Bloodworth, 81, of Leesburg, FL peacefully passed away at home on Monday, January 26th, 2009, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long but well fought illness. She was born on August 20, 1927, in Richland, GA and moved as a young child with her mother and brother to Orlando, FL in 1938. Marge graduated from Orlando High School with the class of 1945 and married her high school sweetheart Frank D. Bloodworth Jr. on June 16, 1946. They lived on Bumby Ave. and in the Lake Como area near their dear friends Lucille and Gene Hodges and Doris and Walt Nobles. Marge worked at the Colonial Savings and Loan Association while Frank worked in the family business, Orlando Red Ball Moving and Storage. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Orlando on Church Street. They moved to New Orleans, LA and then to Valparaiso, FL in 1964. Marjorie began her career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1967 at Eglin Air Force Base, FL as Secretary to the Warden. In 1978 she was promoted to the South-East Regional Office in Atlanta, GA as the secretary to the Regional Director and moved to Conyers, GA where she lived for the next 25 years. Her husband Frank passed away in May 1984. She was a highly decorated law enforcement professional who was widely known and respected within her agency and the Department of Justice. She began to paint, became very proficient and completed many excellent paintings. Marjorie married Odis A. (Bud) Nix of Winder, GA in 1987 and after retiring that same year, she resumed a lifelong passion for traveling, visiting Alaska, Puerto Rico, Europe and most of the contiguous United States. Odis Nix passed away in September, 2005. Marjorie was a devoted spouse, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We lovingly honor and remember her as a dedicated friend who touched the lives of many people with her positive outlook, concern and care for others. As we know, there are angels among us on this earth, and Marjorie is one. We couldn't have been more blessed. Marjorie is survived by her children: Frank D. (Tripp) Bloodworth III (Cindy Jo) and Marci-Jo Mishoe (Gerald); her brother, Thomas Hardy Tyler and sister, Gwendolyn Jo Merker (Jim), grandchildren: Berkley Keats Bloodworth, Heather Michelle Jones (Chris), Lincoln McKay Mishoe (Lisa), Gerald Grant Mishoe (Stephanie) and Jessica Leigh Mishoe, as well as six great grandchildren: Haley and Chase Jones, Korben and Julian Mishoe, Tristan and Logan Mishoe. Our special thanks go out to all the health care professionals, especially Leytonya Hargrove, her family and Cornerstone Hospice staff that provided loving care to Marjorie. They were truly a blessing to her and our family and we will be forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to: Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778.
