CONYERS - Brandon Crumbley fanned eight banners after coming into the game in relief in the top of the third inning to lead Salem to a 4-2 come-from-behind win over Rockdale in a Region 8-AAAA baseball game Wednesday evening.

ATLANTA - The Covington Kroger store located on U.S. Highway 278 has been fined $4,000 jointly with two other Kroger locations by the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs in connection with what OCA Administrator Jim Doyle calls gasoline price-gouging, according to a printed press release.

Student advances flight plans

Rayjhan Bethune, 15, a ninth-grade student at Heritage High School, took a trip to the Amazon in South America in July after winning an essay contest from the Frank Ski Kids Foundation. As a result, he became more motivated with his future career. Bethune is now enrolled in the Aviation Career Enrichment Program and presently has flown three times, logging 4 1/2 hours of flight, in a Cessna 172. He recently moved from the Junior ACE class to the Senior ACE class. He has plans to become a commercial pilot and maybe an Air Force pilot.

Pet vaccine clinic aims to reduce spread of parvo

CONYERS - The public is invited to participate in a low-cost pet vaccine clinic Saturday to help raise money for Rockdale Animal Care and Control and also help stop the spread of parvo among dogs in the county.
