It should be obvious to all that, as a nation, we have reached the end of the cycle in the rise and fall, as has every great nation before us. We rose out of bondage, progressed through difficult times to prosperity, then to selfishness, then complacency, then to dependency, and now back again to bondage. It brings to mind a profound Biblical parable found in 2 Peter 2:22 "the dog has turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." Sadly, many refuse to acknowledge, or choose to ignore, this reality.
