Gary W. Brefka, Sr. age 70 of Conyers died Saturday March 28, 2009 of heart complications. He was a native of Syracuse New York. He served in the United States Air Force. Gary owned and operated Gary's Trucking in Conyers Georgia. He enjoyed antique cars, car shows. He also enjoyed his home away from home in Cherokee North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Brefka, his son Gary W. Brefka, Jr., and brother, Richard Brefka. He is survived by his children; Kathy of Conyers and Teresa (Karl Frederich) of Loganville, nine grandchildren and eight great-grand children, sister Eleanor R. Sirmans of Tampa Florida, two brothers Norbert (Doddie) Brefka of Brewerton, New York and Arthur Brefka of Syracuse, New York, his step brother Hans Sieman of Orlando, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday April 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Downtown Stone Mountain. Calling hours are 2:00pm-4:00 pm and 6:00 pm-9:00 pm on Thursday April 2, 2009 and 2:00pm-4:00 pm and 6:00pm-9:00 pm on Friday April 3, 2009. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gwinnett County Relay for Life in Care of Don Moore 072 Zone 610 West Crogan Street Lawrenceville, GA 30045, in memory of Gary and Patricia Brefka.
