Doris Starr Roane, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2010. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Doris was born February 5, 1921 in Forsyth, Georgia. She was one of 4 children. Her two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. She was the beloved wife of Landon Boyd Roane, Jr. who passed away in February 2009. Together, they were long time residents of Conyers, Georgia. They were married 69 years. She was active in her community, church and loved her home. Mrs. Roane was an avid golfer and an accomplished painter and loved by many friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, and son Lanny Roane. Mrs. Roane is survived by her two daughters: Gwen Cobb and husband, Richard; Peggy Gibson and husband Jim. Five grandchildren: Robyn Cobb, Kimberly Falls and husband Julian; Richard Cobb, Jr. and wife Trish; Celia King and husband Dan; Jennifer Fluharty and husband Craig; and nine special great grandchildren: Avery and Isabelle Falls; Campbell, Landon and Lawson Cobb; Mckenzie and Peyton King; Patrick and Madelyn Fluharty. A private family service, celebrating her life, will be held on January 19th at West View Cemetery with Pastor John Beckman presiding. In Lieu of flowers, donations honoring her can be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church, 2375 South Highway 20, Conyers, Georgia 30013. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Georgia 404- 355-7627
