Mrs. Jewell Morris Hay, age 98 of Conyers, died July 1, 2010. Mrs. Hay and her husband were the Founders and Owner/Operators of the Rockdale Citizen. She was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, William Thomas Hay. She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Hay Rogers Staples Davis, Stockbridge; grandsons, John P. Rogers Jr., Colonel (R) U.S. Air Force and wife Patricia, Dahlonega, Thomas Christopher Rogers, St. Petersburg, FL, David Elsworth Rogers and wife Isabel, Loganville; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hay Rogers Kimbrell & husband David, Grayson; 6 great-grandchildren, Paul Rogers, Washington DC, Rachel Rogers Worley, Atlanta, Alexander Kimbrell, Milledgeville, Elizabeth Anne Kimbrell, Gainesville, Thomas Rogers, Loganville, Alexandra Rogers, Loganville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Conyers First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Brokaw officiating; interment will follow at Union United Methodist Churchyard. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Scot Ward's Harry White Chapel. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
