David Whitmer of McDonough and Sherrie Whitmer of Conyers announce the engagement of their daughter, Shellie Marie Whitmer, to Brandon Todd Osment, son of Jeff and Felisa Osment of Covington.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Claire Whitmer of Redan and the late Donald Whitmer and Ronald and Marcia Odom of Walla Walla, Wash., and Charles and Beverly Bullock of Flowery Branch. She is a 2003 graduate of Heritage High School. She is currently employed with Shapiro and Swertfeger as a pre-closing paralegal in Atlanta.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Dr. Taylor L. and Wilma Osment of Gafney, S.C., and MacArthur and Francis James of Hephzibah, Ga. He is a 2010 graduate of DeKalb Technical College. He is currently employed with Southern Graphics Systems in Conyers.
The couple plans to wed Aug. 28 at The Baptist Tabernacle in Covington.
