Vennie Mitchell Goddard, age 82 of Newton County, formerly of Lithonia, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. She was born and raised in Conyers, GA. She was a housewife of 60 years. She was a longtime member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Lithonia and is currently a member of Oasis Faith Baptist Church in Social Circle. Mrs. Goddard is survived by children, Gary and Vicky Goddard, Conyers, Gail and Jim King, Sparta, Cathy and David Barfield, Marietta; grandchildren, Tara and Greg Mahan, Sparta, Crystal and Shane Pritchett, Conyers, Dottie and Rob Minskoff, Buford, Chris Barfield, Marietta, Andrea and Justin Lewis, Acworth, Brandon and Kathy Esque, Covington; great-grandchildren, Laine and Shelby Pritchett, Will and Matt Mahan, Lilly Minskoff, C.J. and Morgan Barfield, Eliana Lewis; sister, Kathleen Brooking, Loganville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Marvin J. Goddard. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Harry White Chapel with Rev. Nelson Goddard officiating; interment will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Lithonia. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
