Mack and Cathy McDonald of Jacksonville, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Holly McDonald, to Brett Hoskinson, son of Bob and Bonnie Hoskinson of Conyers.
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Richlands High School and a 2008 graduate of East Carolina University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in speech and hearing science. She is a 2010 graduate of North Carolina Central University, where she earned a master's degree in education and speech pathology. She is currently employed with Onslow County School System as a speech therapist in Jacksonville, N.C.
The future groom is a 2003 graduate of Salem High School. He is a corporal in the United States Marine Corp. He is stationed at Camp Lejuene in Jacksonville, N.C., as an electronics technician and a water survival instructor.
The couple plans to wed Nov. 6 at First Baptist Church in New Bern, N.C.
