Mary Frances Woffard celebrated her 102nd birthday on April 19. She currently resides at Merryvale Assisted Living, where over 50 residents, staff, family and friends celebrated Mrs. Woffard's birthday with 102 balloons, a display of pictures and memorabilia from her life and a cake. She was widowed at the age of 31, losing her husband in a car accident and leaving her to raise their only child, Martha. She never remarried. She is retired from International Harvester after 34 years of service. She then went to work for Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home in Covington, retiring after 27 years of service, and doing so in her mid 90s. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, Martha, and son-in-law, Jimmy Williams, and their family. She has three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She also loves the sun and will sit outside all day as long as weather permits.
