CONYERS -- A new year means a new beginning for many people and that's the theme of a natural healing expo planned this month.
The expo is call New Year, New Beginnings, New Alternatives, and is hosted by the New-Roc Chapter of the American Business Women's Association and Mind, Body, Spirit of East Atlanta.
The expo will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Holiday Inn Express at the corner Dogwood Drive and Green Street in Conyers.
The public is invited to attend and admission is free. Door prizes will be given during the expo.
The event is an opportunity for practitioners of natural healing and other community members to visit with local vendors who work in the areas of massage therapy, nutrition, crystal healing, hypnotherapy, handwriting analysis, ionic foot baths, chiropractic services and counseling and biofeedback information.
Susan Sendelbach of both the ABWA and Mind, Body, Spirit, said the expo is the first of its kind for Conyers. The ABWA originally sought Sendelbach to do a presentation for a meeting which eventually led to a decision to share the information with the community.
We've asked the vendors to be as much of an experience as possible, she said. We want them to be doing something with people or showing something through demonstrations to where you can experience something for free.
The Phoenix and Dragon Bookstore of Roswell will provide an opening ceremony with crystal bowl meditation for the expo. Similar to meditation with Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowl meditation involves a wooden mallet being drawn a glass to produce tones that aid in meditation, explained Sendelbach, who operates Anchor Point Counseling and Biofeedback with her husband, James.
People will also have the opportunity to try out different methods of natural healing or watch demonstrations.
Vendor slots are still available. For more information, contact Sendelbach at 678-210-1166 or go to www.newrocabwa.org.
