Mr. Roy Daniel King, 70 of Covington passed away June 29, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Decatur. Mr. King was born in Bolivar, Tennessee to the late Dossie D. and Rosa E. King. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Covington and ministered in several churches in Tennessee and Mississippi. From 1957 to 1968 he proudly served his country in the US Army stationed in Ft. Campbell, KY, Ft. Jackson, SC, and Fort Polk in Louisiana. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and firearms. Mr. King was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy F. King of Covington, his children Dorothy E. and Randy Groover of McDonough, Keith Daniel King of Covington, Andrea and Frank Johnson of Covington, siblings, Irene Binson, Cloverport, TN., Emogene Walton, Bolivar, TN, David King, Bolivar, TN, Paul King, Middleson, TN, and Margie Arnold, Parsons, TN, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. King will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Culpepper and Rev. Robbie Norman officiating.
