ATLANTA Buck Farmer was at it again Friday in Atlanta. The Georgia Tech right-hander tossed eight dominant innings against Florida State, though the Yellow Jackets fell 2-1 in 10 innings in ACC play at Russ Chandler Stadium.
Farmer, a junior from Rockdale, followed a complete game shut out against Duke last weekend with another gem against the Seminoles, ranked No. 2 in the country by Baseball America. He allowed just five hits and struck out eight batters.
The former Bulldogs stand out, who lowered his ERA to 3.71 in eight starts, was about to be hung with the tough-luck loss, but Tech rallied for the tying run in the bottom of the ninth when Brandon Thomas doubled in a run with one out. Justin Gonzalez’s run-scoring single in the tenth turned out to be the winning run for Florida State.
