For all those interested in saving our country from bankruptcy, I submit the following calculations for your consideration. According to U.S. Treasury reports, the Obama administration, aided by a cooperative, self-serving Legislature, has grown our national debt roughly one-third since he took office. That is an increase from $10-plus trillion, to more than $15-plus trillion in a little more than three years. It took previous governments 221 years to amass a $10 trillion debt, and the Obama administration has added another $5 trillion in just a little over three. Strangely, Obama and Democrats in the Senate seem to believe that we can spend our way out of debt with borrowed money.
One would expect any informed, reasonably intelligent person, to realize we as individuals, and as a nation, are on the path to destruction. This is utter stupidity. If any reasonable person can recognize this, why is Obama not able to see it since he is declared by some to be impressively bright? If he is not thought to be stupid, could we, or should we, conclude this as intentional? One can readily see bringing America down would make him a hero in the hearts and minds of those nations who dislike us, particularly the radical Islamic Nations.
Consider Obama's energy policy or absence thereof. On several occasions recently he has made deriding remarks about the slogan "drill baby drill," and then added, "There is no immediate solution to the gasoline shortage, there is no silver bullet." One does not have to be especially bright to figure out that when you are firing blanks, there are no bullets, silver or otherwise. He is making no effort, and apparently has no plan, for a solution. I guess the effect gas prices is having on the general public just hasn't registered with him since he has personal taxi service on Air Force One provided by taxpayers. It is being reported that he is close to averaging a trip every other day at a cost somewhere around $100,000 per hour.
How can any reasonably intelligent person fail to see that gas prices have a devastating effect on our economy, as well as on our daily lives in the form of rising prices on just about everything. Could this be his plan to further weaken the economy and at the same time, create dissension among the people? There appears to be plenty of reason to suspect that is his agenda. One thing seems certain; we will continue to be beholden to OPEC until we start production on the homeland.

a cooperative, self-serving Legislature (Grady, what nation do you live in? Our President has had absolutely no support from the GOP) Legislature,) One can readily see bringing America down would make him a hero in the hearts and minds of those nations who dislike us, particularly the radical Islamic Nations. (Do you believe our President wants to be King of Iraq? Iran? Afghanistan?) He is making no effort, and apparently has no plan, for a solution. (Our President, despite the unloyal opposition has reduced the amount of oil being imported to the USA.) gas prices have a devastating effect on our economy, as well as on our daily lives (Are you aware that even the speculators in gas futures predict a lessening of prices?)

This country was bankrupt before Obama was even elected - thanks to Bush/Cheney! Why does the right continue to ignore this?

Obama is using Saul Alinksy tactics to implement what Cloward and Piven have always dreamed of. The destruction of America from within. Or simply put, to overload the system so they can start anew and "mold the world closer to their hearts desire". This is Socialism/Marxism 101. Unfortunately the majority of the American electorate has allowed themselves to be bought with food stamps, welfare checks, never ending unemployment, etc, etc. America can still be saved I believe but it will not be by any single politician or party. The Republicans have become no more than Democrat Lite's. Romney will just slow things down. He will not have the courage to reverse course. "We The People" are the only hope for this last remaining "shining city on a hill". The question is, what will we do? Those like joanneraatz will continue to sling blame elsewhere, but how about the rest of us?
