"Glad you love your rabbits, but as a gardener, I cannot concur. Rabbits might be cute, but they do a lot of damage -- if they get in my garden, it's going to be time for Brunswick stew. Hope your neighbors microchip their cats with you around -- everyone with pets should do that, as well as spay and neuter. As for dogs, they kill small animals and send more people to the hospital than cats ever could. When the squirrels and chipmunks and field mice start working on your house, you'll wish you had a cat around. Just sayin.'"----"Black people: police are not targeting you. When you get pulled over for speeding and you are speeding, that's not racial profiling. It's you breaking the law and getting a ticket for it. If police don't ticket you, but stop to ask you to move your car from a no-parking area, it has nothing to do with skin color. It is because you are in a no-parking area. If you got that boom ping ping and the police stop you for noise ordinance violation, you got stopped for violating the noise ordinance, and please don't pretend it's cuz you are black. No it's cuz that stereo is too loud. A stop sign means stop, a yield sign means yield, speed limit signs are not just for show, and blinkers are on your car for a reason -- use them. Every time you play the race card, you are weakening the fight against real racism, because it's crying wolf to people, and if something really happens to you and you've been playing this game all these years, who's going to listen when it's for real? I see a lot of white people pulled over by CPD and RCSO, so don't feel so special. Traffic laws are for everyone, and the police got too much else to do in this county to be wasting time picking on you. Man up and take responsibility for your actions and stop playing the victim."----"I understand that African Americans have been taught very well to look for racial discrimination in every tough situation but it is out of hand. The 'race card" should never be used unless it is blatantly true. As a black man trying to raise kids the right way, I see sorry individuals trying to use lies to get what they want by playing race. It further divides our community and breaks the good parts of the system down along with the bad parts. But hey, Mr. Sorry Ghetto Fabulous, who is too busy running around to raise his kids right, doesn't care about anything but himself while the rest of us suffer for his stupidity and lack of morals. It makes me sick to see bad parents pulling the race card to get their sub-par athlete son more playing time or misbehaved child out of trouble. ... If we keep doing this it will be bad. It will ruin our country if we don't stop it. White people are too afraid to stand up for themselves on this issue so the good black people need to keep telling our stupid cousins to quit actin' a fool."----"As a parent, I wish this paper would do an in-depth story about the latest cheerleading drama at RCHS. I was finally happy with the cheerleading coach for this coming year. She is young, energetic and dedicated to excellence and discipline. Her biggest hurdle was going to be getting rid of some kids on the team who constantly break rules and get away with it and cause problems on the team by stirring up dissension and setting bad examples for the younger ones. But the new coach made the correct cuts at tryouts so it looked like this year was going to be great. But, as you guessed, those kids come from bad parents and the parents went complaining to the weakest link in this organization, the principal. Not the coach, not the athletic director. Maybe the principal tried to be tough and the county office is weak. But the girls who were cut got put back on the squad and the good coach naturally stepped down. So the bad kids learned to stay bad and the good kids lose a good coach. We were very close to breaking out of the bad attitude on this team but the bad parents win again. I will be glad when this system gets this right. Till then, I will just have to show my kid what is right even though she sees the school failing and justifying wrong decisions."----"I think our school system bigwigs have it backwards. They are leaning toward tying teacher pay to scores and performance. I thought that was interesting when I first heard it because most companies I have worked for in the past did just the opposite. The real performance of the company depended on management and they were the ones who were punished based on how the company did. If there is a problem in a school, we have over 50 people in the school system making $90K or more who should be getting it fixed. I think it's funny that those people have come with an idea to tie the salaries of low-paid teachers to success of the schools when it's the high-paid gold badges that are making policy decisions like keeping poorly behaved students in the classrooms."----"Dear RCPS management types. If you want the graduation rate to go up, you need to expel a lot of middle school students. This is key. Once they get into ninth grade, you girly girls are afraid to expel them because that will hurt the graduation rate. So do it while they are in middle school. Get them out of the system. Brundage, Budensiek, Baker, and Autry, you guys are all making well over $100K per year and you should be earning that money by removing the discipline issues. Baker, you know it's wrong to let bad parents bully this system. All of you guys can see it's ruining our education here. It is time to step up and run this system the right way. Bad discipline and poor decision-making from management is what robs teachers of the joy of teaching. Promote the joy of teaching like you used to do by not putting up with foolishness."----"I have one thing to tell our school board and county office. You need to expel some students. Period. If you want us to support you, you will identify the top behavior problems in our high schools and middle schools and expel them. Show us that you care about the good kids. Expel the top 20 behavior issues from each school and expel them in a quick and efficient fashion so that the parents can say nothing. Get this county on the news for the extreme number of expulsions. Let the whole metro area know that we are not putting up with foolishness. Get the word out that we expel kids if they start acting wrong. If you do this you will get my vote and you will see scores rise. If I am wrong, someone please post a response. I do not see any problem with this logic. If the system lawyer, Jack Lance, says it can't be done, then cut him loose. He is worthless and is part of the problem with his $197K salary. Find a bulldog lawyer that is passionate and innovative enough to make it happen and dedicated to keeping the schools safe and conducive to learning. Enough foolishness!"----"Would the Citizen please add a link/tab for the Police Blotter? Like you have for the Citizen Poll. The Police Blotter list is incomplete as earlier ones were called Jail Blotter so do not appear. Also, the April 20, 2012, Rockdale Blotter has a date typo. We subscribe to the Citizen but do not keep the paper copies. We wanted to look up a Police Blotter for January or February but it is next to impossible to find it online the way they are labeled."----"To the individual that accused the Conyers Police Department of being racially biased in last Sunday's poll ... were you angrier about feeling as though you were being targeted as a black person or just for being stuck longer in the heavy traffic? Stop relying on your race as a reason to justify every predicament that you find yourself wrapped up in. Very few citizens feel this way any longer. It's 2012!"----"I was wondering why I haven't seen my granddaughter's picture in the paper? Someone took her picture at school for being Student of the Month for February, and we were told it would be in the Rockdale Citizen. I may have overlooked it possibly, but I don't think I have ever seen any children's pictures for this accomplishment printed yet. Please let me know what information, if any, you have on this? The school is Hightower Trail Elementary. She also made honor roll and it wasn't mentioned either. Thanks for your time."

Editor's note: We have published all of the Students of the Month photos that we received for February. It's possible that we have not yet received that submission. Not all schools submit honor rolls to the Citizen for publication. We have not received an honor roll from Hightower Trail for the previous grading period.----"I'm trying to understand our BOC. While Oden and Nesbitt felt compelled to comment on the Trayvon Martin case (which is in Florida) and commend people for showing up at a protest, they completely ignored two citizen heroes who risked their own lives to stop a crime that happened right in our own county in broad daylight by a serial perp. We have seen several stories in this paper recently about neighbors stopping break-ins in their neighborhoods or helping cops catch the burglars, but the BOC had no comment or commendation on any of those. No, they don't want to talk about what goes on every day here in the county, they want to talk about a case where some wingnut shot someone, and then paint it as though this is something that happens every day, everywhere, all the time. Well it isn't, but you know what is happening every day, commissioners? Every day criminals are coming into Rockdale and looking for things to steal and people they can victimize. That is happening every day, and every one of those days, there are ordinary citizens put in extraordinary situations where their lives may be at stake -- and you, commissioners, you're too busy planning parties with DeKalb County politicos and backslapping each other for the 'accomplishments' you think you've made to see what shape this county is really in. Wish I could say you cared, but I can't, because it's too obvious that you don't think for yourselves, you only think of yourselves. I'm glad that at least there are people in our county that think of others and who act upon that compassion -- because they're the people that can turn this county around, not self-absorbed BOC members."----"Have we as a community given up on finding the killer of Dequavious Mapp? I really wish we could make the killer pay for what they did. Plus the man that held a party in his house for underage gang-members just got away with a slap on the wrist. He should be under the jail for having that party with high school kids just to pay his rent."----"The Rockdale County Fire and Rescue 911 Department is severely understaffed at its 911 Operations Center. It is my understanding that the department is down the equivalent of one full shift of employees and one or more supervisors. Given the fact that this department runs 12 hours per shift, this is an unacceptable figure. The operators at the 911 Center are the core of the entire Public Safety operations. They are the kind people who dispatch an ambulance and fire trucks to our citizens. They dispatch deputies in any situation. They communicate with the public, ambulance personnel, firefighters and deputies, all while maintaining an upbeat attitude and the patience of saints. Due to the deficit of available staff, the operators are being required to work five 12-hour shifts per week, while running the outdated phones and radios with the less than the required amount of operators per shift. If an employee should become ill or have any other type of emergency, then the current schedule would require an operator to work six 12-hour shifts. This is a 72-hour work week, which is unreasonable at best. This type of high demand per operator is putting unnecessary stress on these very valuable employees. The citizens of Rockdale are facing a true emergency if this situation is not resolved soon. We all deserve and pay for an efficiently run Public Safety Department. I urge every citizen of Rockdale to read the job postings on www.rockdalecounty.org. The requirements are very stringent and the pay very little considering the experience they are looking for. I also challenge the Board of Commissioners to consider giving its dedicated long-term 911 staff a substantial pay increase to ensure they stay in Rockdale County and do not use their talents in other surrounding counties that offer substantially higher compensation with less stress."----"Wilson's new plan is not going to work. All passport money needs to go to the general fund. We do not need a panel deciding on which charities are most favored. Rather than put money into hands of yet another bickering panel, all of that money needs to go into the county's general fund to help cover the cost of running this county. If the BOC is truly concerned about transparency, they would put the money where it can truly be accounted for. We don't need a three-legged stool, and we don't need Wilson to tell the county how county-obtained money is spent."

I just saw the comment about the cheer-leading drama and I cant really take sides on it. It seems that cheer-leading always has this kind of stuff going on. I will say this though. When parents complain about cuts, I think the coach should always be backed up(especially new coaches) unless serious wrongdoing can be proven then that coach should be fired. That type of policy would seriously limit these kinds of problems by making the coaches more professional and teaching the parents that schools don't just start giving in when parents complain. Also, if the coach knew these girls were trouble makers, she could have given the principal a heads-up so she wasn't surprised. Maybe she did. It just all seems so easy to avoid if you have a united front.

"White people are too afraid to stand up for themselves on this issue so the good black people need to keep telling our stupid cousins to quit actin' a fool." Thank You for saying this......If we (white people) say anything then we are a racist or a bigot. The race card us pulled. And why is it ok for one black person to call another black person the N word, and it's ok....we do it and we are a racist. Just teach your children that this isn't ok for any race. Color of skin is just color.....our blood all runs red.

This white female is not afraid to stand up for herself. I see more reverse racism (blacks racist against whites) then whites against blacks...I asked a black man that appeared to be on drugs and was startling customers in our store, politely not to loiter on our property as I also have had to ask white men and the first thing out of his mouth? Oh, you jus askin me cuz I'm black... The next thing out of mine...Did I say anything about the color of your skin??? I asked you to leave because you aren't doing business here, it's 2am and if you aren't shopping here you need to go. Oh, but all of a sudden I'm racist?!? Yeah nods head sure.... So I ask a black female friend of mine was that racist? She says no, you were doing your job and he had no business hanging out like that....and yes ma'am the same woman told me we all bleed red. Thank you ma'am and God bless you!!!

Yes! Thank you maryinga and KimberlyD. I see this too and it completely boggles my mind. Racism can go any direction. The saddest thing is, kids these days don't care one bit what color their friends' skin is. But when kids see their parents pulling the race card to get them out of trouble, they learn that it works and they begin to imitate that action. The result is what we have in our schools and community today.

Rockdale County schools are getting a lot of drama lately. Teachers and Resource officers having sexual relations with students at Heritage. Football and Cheerleading coaching drama at Rockdale. I wonder what Salem has to offer this year? A vadalism repeat? or drug addicted teachers like Newton County?

0

Colin 1 year ago

Perhaps if the schools would worried less about football, cheerleading, and riding shotgun on the bandwagon of the lastest educational fad, we could graduate more than 62% of the students on time. I am sure the rigor of the new common core curriculum will do little to increase graduation rates. The only rate that will go up is the percent of students taking credit recovery and summer school so they can be moved to the next grade.

I am not a teacher, nor do I have any children in RCPS (thank God), but it seems to me that if there are pay cuts across the board, teachers being laid off, teachers not having the BASIC supplies needed to do their jobs, then there should be NO ONE making over $80k a year, TOPS. No one on the board, no one in the county office, no PRINCIPAL especially. Start the pay cuts at the top. See who stays and who goes. People who are in education just for the money will leave. People who care more about students and actually teaching will stay and even rise to top positions. Then and only then can we begin to see a change in our school system. Then and only then can we begin to see the hooligans expelled, the teachers backed up by their principal and the county, and real learning can begin. I feel sorry for all the students currently in this hopeless situation who will be passed through and even graduate, yet get to college and real life and have no understanding of how it should work.

Are you serious Editor’s note, "they completely ignored two citizen heroes who risked their own lives to stop a crime that happened right in our own county in broad daylight by a serial perp. We have seen several stories in this paper recently about neighbors stopping break-ins in their neighborhoods or helping cops catch the burglars, but the BOC had no comment or commendation on any of those".

But you the same paper that allowed the black man to be harassed by the Conyers police when he helped many people avoid the horrific traffic jam on 20west and created no traffic jams or accidents while being a helpful citizen. You the same paper that allow elementary kids to be embarrassed during school lunch by getting their lunch tray taken when they don't have enough money. You the same paper that repeatedly allow folks to make baseless claims against public officials. I could go on and on about your bias reporting. I knew before the pictures were released that the couple arrested was black, the neighbors were white, and I bet 9-10 the deputies were white in the Newton county ordeal. I would love to know how many Blacks are arrested, booked into jail, fingerprints taken, picture taken, and arrest record created for some database to later have charges dismissed? But it's innocent Black people like that everyday in this county going through that. I know a man that was investigated for weeks by Conyers police, interrogated then later jailed, finger printed, picture taken, spent the night in jail, shackled and transported over in front of judge and the warrant read "he texted his son's mother too many times because he was upset she won't allow him more time with his son". There were no threats, no physical altercation, he never argued in front of his son(that's why he texted) to later have the charges dismissed against him. And when he finally went to court to modify his visitation he was awarded more time with his son.

There's a major disconnect in this county based solely on racial and cultural differences and your paper ONLY manifests it more! Address the issue(s) and stop trying to belittle the injustice. You can’t minimize another man’s perspective if you never was his color or walked in his shoes. Must be nice to be the self appointed privileged people.

Uhh...what am I missing here? How did "the paper" have anything to do with the self appointed traffic director on the I-20 wb entrance ramp from West Ave? What does the "paper" have to do with sorry parents who can't be bothered to ensure that the children can pay for lunch? I'm betting any view you don't agree with is what you refer to as a "baseless claim" against public officials. Boy, you are hilarious.

The Editor's Note had to do with the previous comment, dingbat. The comment regarding why the BOC did not commend the "citizen heroes" (who are BLACK btw) was from someone calling the poll and was not a comment by the Editor.

Try this perspective on...per the city limits do Hobby Lobby pay their business license to Rockdale or City of Conyers? And if it’s the City of Conyers then BOC who represent Rockdale County respected the City of Conyers jurisdiction. That's like Oden giving a Fulton county citizen an award for something they did in Fulton County. I'm glad to see the City of Conyers acknowledged 2 Blacks...they’re more so known for just harassing Blacks. KUDOs to the City of Conyers!!!

0

heresyafacts 1 year ago

Correct me if I'm wrong -- Conyers IS in Rockdale County, is it not? I would not expect Oden to give a Fulton County resident ackowledgment, as Fulton is neither in nor attached to Rockdale. But as the comment in the poll attests, Oden and Nesbitt DID spend a lot of time on Channel 23 and in BOC meetings talking about the Trayvon Martin case which did NOT take place in Rockdale and had nothing to do with this county. The commenter's position - which I wholeheartedly agree with - is that Oden and Nesbitt need to concentrate on THIS county, Rockdale, not what's going on in DeKalb or Florida or Atlanta or anywhere except ROCKDALE. They need to acknowledge the crime in Rockdale and the citizens who step up and fight crime in ROCKDALE. And CPD is not harassing blacks, Zo. Kindly drop your cloak of victimhood, and get on board with those who are trying to improve Rockdale, not racially divide it.

Zo 1 year ago

The truth hurts. There are 3 commissioners, but YOU ONLY picked the two Black commissioners to criticize. Furthermore, you wouldn't know this but BLACKS are more affected by profiling than any other minority group. My bad, you wouldn't know that because you belong to the self-proclaim righteous than life group. Also, if Rockdale County ran around taking care of everything there will be no need for Conyers government and the county would be in more financial trouble. So stick to the facts, do you vote for the Mayor or the Commissioner? My point is yes, Conyers is in Rockdale County, but have designated areas of responsibility (somebody slept through local government 101). Get in a wreck and watch Conyers police & Rockdale sheriff fight over whose jurisdiction it belongs to. I bet anything Conyers police & Mayor wanted FULL credit for what happen at Hobby Lobby. And to prove you not a racist, if you care to; use all three commissioners when complaining. Moreover, Martin case touched home for many Blacks, so sadly you don't understand the significants. But I guess that's like me not understanding Elvis birthday. So, maybe you need to take that virtual hood off and stop the divide.

0

heresyafacts 1 year ago

I voted for Oden. You are the one who continually brings race into the issue, so it would appear that you are the racist, and not me. My point -- which should be obvious -- is that 'jurisdiction' has certainly not prevented comments on the part of the BOC in opther matters. As I said, drop your cloak of victimhood; it's blinding you to both reality and rational discussion.

0

Zo 1 year ago

You voted for him to throw darts at him. Show me where you have supported him with your comments? Again, rather than saying you were wrong about BOC shouldn't have did anything based on jurisdiction you go all out in left field. Let me suggest you change your virtual hood name, because you lacking in the facts area...maybe heresyalaugh.

I bring race, because like you, when I break your comment down it's baseless with a direct attack on Blacks (you never mention Van Ness who I last checked is a commissioner).

0

heresyafacts 1 year ago

"You voted for him to throw darts at him." This comment proves you are either a troll or a fool. "it's baseless with a direct attack on Blacks (you never mention Van Ness who I last checked is a commissioner)" Please give me examples of comments she has made at BOC meetings that did not have to do with Rockdale. Your argument is that comments and/or accolades have jurisdiction; my argument is that at least two of the commissioners have demonstrated otherwise.

0

Zo 1 year ago

Are you serious heresyalaugh? Martin's case is national news, but you wouldn't understand “profiling" it’s not an issue for you or your race. But just know national news tend to make local news. The Martin case is about a young 16yr old gunned down based on "PROFILING". It's funny how when I profile you as a racist you go crazy and call me crazy, etc. Know multiple your reaction to being a racist a thousand times on how Blacks re-act when were "profiled" as some criminal and our life could possibly be taken. The two Black commissioners ONLY reacted because they 1 been profiled before and/or 2 that could have been their child or family member.

You folks need to chill and stop jumping down a Black person's throat every time they say something. But I guess it's in the DNA to hate just because.

Zoey, Your comments are the most ignorant race hating words ive read lately. As for the Martin kid in Florida all the race protitutes came out of the woodwork to march and protest because another black kid was killed. Did you see the interview with the young black kid that said he saw Martin on top of Mr. Zimmerman hitting him and slamming his head on the ground? I saw it and the black kid was an eye witness.Get a grip black people are causing most of the problems in Rockdale county and when they give a description of the perp. it uaually starts with young black male in a hoodie. You should be a man for once in your life a speak out about the violence that is prevelant in black culture. Look at crime statistics for a mostly black area and I will bet you will find an increase in criminal activity. By the way homeboy im a black business owner who raised 3 kids in an intact home and my kids are all educated and know how to stand on their own two feet and not rely on a handout for anything. Thay were taught respect, manners, and how to act like good people who bring something to the table other than a open hand looking for something they,ve been taught they are owed. This is one black man that has never pulled the race card and never will because I respect hard working men and women. Be a man

I've a new and more befitting "hood name" for you: Zo-a-Trope, one who creates the illusion of motion through a repetition of tired, worn cliches. I'm not surprised by your choice of words: "racist" and "profiling" being the favorites among reactionaries and race-baiters who seek to divide and incite, rather than seek real solutions and positive change. Neither am I surprised that you consider any opposing opinion to be "hate" or "jumping down a Black person's throat." You, remember, are the one who pronounced "jurisdictions" as being relevent with regard to what issues the BOC should involve itself with (see above), and that the BOC has no reason to comment on issues within the city limits or outside the county lines; on that last part, we can agree, as I expect the BOC to busy itself with the issues and citizens of this county, rather than using county time and resources in commentaries on national news stories. Btw -- what race am I, exactly? You assume quite a lot, for someone so "educated" and enlightened. "Profiling," indeed.

Zo, are you mad at the BOC because they had no comment about the heroes at Hobby Lobby? I know the paper did an article on them when the Mayor recognized them. here is the link: http://www.rockdalecitizen.com/news/2...

I dont really think the paper has anything to do with the racial tension in the community. I would like it settle down too though. The answer is everyone working together. Dumb people are blaming color on our issues when really it's a lot more than that. I promise I dont care what color my neighbors are. What I dont want is the cops showing up on my street all the time because people can't control themselves and obey the law.

Your rant here only hurts things too. You have some legit arguments and some dumb ones. 1. The couple in Covington got a raw deal. I know them and they are very nice people. The cops got it wrong and it makes them look bad. The paper did a story on it though so I dont know what your beef with them is. 2. I dont like your stance on the kids getting free meals at all. The are getting free meals that you and I are paying for. The parents need to get it right on that one not the lunch ladies. Also, I dont see where the paper is at fault for that either. 3.Please do a public records request about the number of blacks with charges dismissed. I also would like to know this information. 4. No one made that woman call the cops and lie about her husband. Again I dont see the paper at fault here.

The paper allows comments from everyone. They are not censoring your comments or mine are they? I dont know why you are blaming them on this unless you just want them to print things that you like.

I also need to say that I have had plenty of issues with they way they ignore certain stories and not hold people accountable. I think they should ask harder questions to the school sytem about the terrible discipline that is allowed. They need to get down and dirty and report on what exact discipline infractions are being committed and what the punishment is for each situation. They have also allowed the DA and police chief to let the DaQuavious Mapp case grow cold. (yes it's me that keeps bringing it up!)

But your rant is unclear and hard to understand. You almost sound like the "hide your kids Hide your wife guy" in Alabama. You are just unhappy and slinging blame wherever it will land. It is very unwise to do that and hurts our community. You also seem to have an agenda and do not seem too concerned with the truth unless it matches up with your agenda.

1

Zo 1 year ago

You keep defending their actions. I went at the paper because the Editor notes went after our public officials and that was counter productive.

As a tax payer I just expressed that taking a food tray out of a kids hand is embarrassing and it's the kid that suffers. I just recommended they change the process, check the balance first before handing them a lunch. To take the lunch back & throw it in the trash is truly a waste of tax payers money. Feed the kid not the trash. So what's so hard to support change for that.

You, Sundance, have went on rants in this paper against a certain type of people and that's what I'm tired of you and people like you always attacking Blacks & other minorities. I'm tired of the foolishness of all people, but when it's the non Blacks committing crimes & being a public problem you, other conservative friends, and this paper not making statements against their actions. I notice how you just jumped over the Newton incident i dont see no out cry and long attack against the deputies. However, that couple had guns pointed at them, arrested, booked with fingerprints and picture taken. The mental aspect of the drama they put an elderly couple through should have everyone in a uproar. Along with some of the things i pointed out, but you jumped right over that. Go back and review "your comments and rants" all in this paper and you too will see your bias perspective.

And this paper it's making Editor notes about any of that. So you playing as if you can't follow me is just a sign you don't want to support my perspective. Cool, I'm use to attacks I deal with it sadly on a daily bases. Like I told your buddy we make our "haters" our motivators.

0

Sundance 1 year ago

Like I said before. It's like arguing with a drunk. You never let the facts get in the way of your arguments. People don't have to get in an uproar over the Kolanjis. It is being handled. But back to your writing, you state above that the paper is making editor notes about the situations that concern you. My guess is that it is another mistake.

See the problem with race is that white people stereotype all Blacks based on the actions of a few bad apples in the Black community. We all don’t rob, steal, play our music loud, etc. But we are quickly grouped as one.

Let me give you this perspective that Blacks could quickly group all whites as meth heads, could say all white male teachers and police officers are sleeping with under age girls at the school, all white female teachers are doing crack, all white neighbors want to pull a gun on Blacks, etc.

My point is judge a person based on their individual merit not group all into one group based on a few bad apples within that race..

Read below what a I found out about for the comment section on the article about Oz (wow)

This is per you, "Read Daniels "Criminal Trial Practice in Georgia" and you will gain informidable knowledge of individual Constitutional Rights that protect each and every one of us against illegal stops and unlawful search and seizure"; The stop was illegal and any 'fruit' discovered as a result is therefore tainted evidence."

So per you, Wigington's son's traffic stop was ILLEGAL and it was Wigington's Deputy that mad the illegal stop. That's not a sign of improper training within Wigington's sheriff office. So, that means every stop that deputy made in the past must be thrown out, because he's making illegal stops. Is that type of information public Editor notes ( I bet Editor notes don't address that)?

Now maybe that explains why all these cases are being dismissed because currently Wigington have an untrained staff of deputies out on the road. And you are saying we are safe and have a great sheriff? Said as though we need a Ferguson who have knowledge in accreditation, so we can have properly trained deputies on the road.

But do we read Editor notes about that?

Go ahead and stereotype white folks all you want to, Zo. I'm white and I could not possibly care less. I'm an individual and don't identify myself as part of a group. In other words, no chip on my shoulder and no ax to grind. I think I lost a relative or two in the Irish potato famine, but I'm not one to fret over ancient history, lol.

To your last point, you don't look at history becaused your white group imposed the suffrage on Blacks, ClaytonBigsby. If you never been through nothing you can't speak on nothing!

What are you Zo, 200+ years old (to have, ahem, cough cough "suffered")? Once again, you made me laugh. Feel free to give up your "white imposed" suffrage any time you want to. We'd be the better for it. Now, go look up the word "suffrage".

There are a lot of trolls on here. I like it. I like the fact that race can be the center piece of every argument made in the citizen poll. it just shows a lack of judgement and perspective on all involved. Crimes are committed by individuals, not races. Whether they are white, black, hispanic or Asian...a criminal is a criminal.

There's a lot of back and forth about the comment regarding the two 'citizen heroes' and the lack of the BOC to recognize them. I reread that comment based on all the comments here, and from what I read, I gather the comment was directed at the BOC and that the commenter is unhappy with the BOC's lack of acknowledgement of crime in this county and their lack of ackowledgement of regular citizens who are doing their part to stop crime. I don't get how anyone could read racism into it, as the two main "citizen heroes" it alludes to are, in fact, black. And for the record, the police did not 'harass' someone who stopped at the entrance ramp to the highway -- they made him or her move because you are not supposed to park on an entrance ramp. Black, white, yellow, polkadot, I don't care who you are, police will ask you why you are there and then they will make you move. The other comments are just too ridiculous to even address: 'Zo' has an enormous chip on his shoulder, an obvious hatred of whites, and will continue to be ruled by emotion rather than reason and rationale -- arguing with someone like that is an exercise in futility.

You know he doesn't have a clue what you mean, don't you?

Oddly, you found NOTHING Zo said of credibility. Hatred I dont have for anyone its not in my DNA. I'm glad to see Conyers stepped up to the plate and give recognition to 2 Blacks. Try this way of looking at it, per the city limits do Hobby Lobby pay their business license to Rockdale or City of Conyers? And if City of Conyers then BOC who represent Rockdale Couty respected their jurisdiction.

Under an emergency situations rules are broken. He went out of his way to help a dreadful situation. No accidents occurred you never know how many people he did help that day....commonly you looked at ALL of Zo"s perspectives from the negative. Again, you not sure how many people he helped. The highway was a parking lot for 3 hours. How do you find wrong in a helpful person?

I just found out who Zo is and he is a white boy from Porterdale so he is playing a stupid game trying to be black. What a cracker.

He's doing a jam up job! He's got all the little ten cent phraseology down pat, especially that silly "my haters are my motivators" bit. I bet he tells folks to "have a blessed day" too!

@Will, I'm not going to blast you because as I recall it was blacks who put Blacks on slave ships. If you pump your brakes and read some of these baseless claim against the Black community you might reconsider your stance. Moreover, because the crime rate is high in the Black community doesn't mean your kids are those criminals because their Black. Again that's like me saying ALL whites are meth heads because their the ones committing that crime.

I'm here to say chill white people with the baseless claims. If you can't understand that I feel sorry for you and those kids you raising.

@laughfact, you so consumed with me defending my Black people against your racist overtone, baseless comments. Again, I showed you after you only went after 2of the 3 commissioners that Hobby Lobby reside in Conyers. Also, the Martin case is still up in the air. And if that kid was killed by a grown man who tracked that kid down, mind you that kid was profiled because no crime was commited or attempted to be commented during this ordeal, then Martin was killed because he defended himself and got the best of that grown man.

You can call me what u want I don't scare easy, but trust every time you pop off under your virtual hood I will point you out. Again, make your point and keep it moving, Sharpton, Jackson, & Zo will defend our people. FYI, we are working in our community to try to bring those up that my still be lacking. But my attitude is to handle our shortcoming behind closed doors not in the public view. Because I darn sure don't see the virtual hood folks blasting their own in this paper, so don't hate the player hate the game.
