Apparently, Tyler Austin is doing just fine. The former Heritage stand out and Tampa Yankees minor leaguer, who left Sunday’s game with an injury, came back in style. Austin went 0-for-5 but did steal a base and score a run in Monday’s game, then went 4-for-5 with 3 RBIs in his second game back in the lineup as the Single-A team defeated Charlotte, 6-4 in 11 innings Tuesday. The 20-year old drove in the eventual game-winning run as Tampa snapped a 4-4 tie with two runs in the 11th.
In eight games with Tampa, Austin is hitting .333 (10-for-30) with 6 RBIs, after hitting .320 with 14 home runs and 54 RBIs in 70 games and earning an all-star selection with the Single-A Charleston RiverDogs.
