Mr. Larry Potts, age 79 of Conyers, died Thursday, August 9, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Walker and Flora Deane Potts. He is survived by his wife, Betty Potts; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Cheryl Potts; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Edward Patton; brother and sister-in-law, Benny and Bitzi Potts, all of Conyers; grandchildren, Shane Potts, CO, Nicole Patton Withers and husband, Erik, Pooler, Lauren Patton, Dahlonega, Keean Durocher, U.S. Navy Japan. Mr. Potts was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Covington, GA where he sang in the senior choir and was a custodian. He worked for American General Life Insurance as an agent and retired after 38 years of service. He was a member of Young at Heart and enjoyed working on his farm. Larry was an avid sports fan and loved our Atlanta Braves and Falcons. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church, Covington, GA with Rev. Reese Sanders and Dr. Jim Martin officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. He will lie in state beginning at 10 a.m. Family will receive friends Friday, August 10, 2012 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
