"Please post this ... claytonbigsby --You might need to be worried. Your crossover strategy might backfire and Levett, Ferguson, and Dems rally together to give Rockdale their first black sheriff. And Levett place Ferguson second in charge. Trick on u all. Lol."
"First of all let me say that Truett Cathy did not say anything mean or hateful about gay people. He simply stated his own beliefs. Since when in this country are we not allowed to have our own beliefs? This just simply is not fair. I am a Christian who believes the way Cathy does but also knows that gay men are some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. I do not have to agree with your lifestyle in order to like you and accept you as a person. Isn't this the way it has always been? I don't think it is fair that not only are Christian, Bible believing people expected to tolerate your lifestyle choice (which I do) but now we are expected to also agree with it. Sorry, but that is just not going to happen. That does not make me mean hearted or any other thing that you would like to call me. We should tolerate one another but none of us should be made to believe that our disagreement with something is hateful or just plain wrong. I happen to believe in the bible but I do not insist that you do. How would you feel if I did?"
"Open primary. A registered voter may vote in any party primary regardless of his own party affiliation. When voters do not register with a party before the primary, it is called a pick-a-party primary because the voter can select which party's primary he or she wishes to vote in on election day. Because of the open nature of this system, a practice known as raiding may occur. RAIDING consists of voters of one party crossing over and voting in the primary of another party, effectively allowing a party to help choose its opposition's candidate. The theory is that opposing party members vote for the WEAKEST candidate of the opposite party in order to give their own party the advantage in the general election. An example of this can be seen in the 2012 Rockdale sheriff's primary with the nomination of Eric Levette as the Democrat candidate in the general election."
"We the people got together and made SPLOST go splat. We the people showed what we stand for with the massive support of Chic-fil-A. Now we need to do it two more times. Lets show Obama what we think of him at the polls and start to get this country back to its position of pride and not bowing to foreign governments. Lets get the Illegal immigrants back to where they belong, at their home county, not blood sucking off of us. Lets get proud again, Buy American, Hire American, Be American."
"Hey Donald Ferguson. We've shown you twice now that we don't want you. Please take that hint. Go back to FCSO, or somewhere else. We're not interested."
"I would like to commend the Rockdale County officer that stopped on Highway 138 Friday around 6:00 p.m. to help a homeowner get their riding lawnmower out of the ditch. The officer was smiling as dirt was spraying him from the back wheels but his persistence paid off and I'm sure that was one happy homeowner. You don't see that type of public service very often and it deserves to be noted. Great job!"
"Since we no longer have The Citizen newspapers on Saturdays -- or -- Mondays, I'm wondering why they don't publish their 'Cheap Stuff' column in the Classifieds every day? It was always in the Saturday and Sunday paper -- and now it's just in the Sunday paper. I think it might boost readership. It would also be helpful to list all the Yard/Garage sales in an area more prominent than trying to scour the fine print of the want ads."
"If the government wants me to support a new tax for roads, they need to make a serious effort to stop government waste and decrease social entitlement fraud. As long as the government thinks it is their job to buy food, medicine, and shelter for it's citizens, I am fighting every tax. It is not the job of government to provide food for us. That is our job. People voting for their food is the reason this country is in such a mess. If they were to drastically cut spending in this area, they could use that money to improve roads that would help all those folks find jobs instead of sucking our blood."
"The politicians behind the SPLOST vote reminds me of kids who have wasted their money and want more. It's like if your kid in college blows all his money on beer and says, "But, Dad, now I don't have any money for books. Don't you want me to be able to buy my books?" You would say, "Son, I gave you money for books and you chose to spend it on something else. now you work it out." We just sent the same message to our government. They have given away millions to poor people for food, housing, and medical when that is not their job. It IS the job of the government to maintain roads though. Just like the college kid, they have used their road money to buy votes from poor people. And it some cases, that money actually went to buy beer through EBT abuse."
"Hey did anyone else get a notice from the Rockdale Stormwater Utility that threatened you with cutting off your STORMWATER if you did not pay your bill (tax)?"
"Hammers don't drive nails! People do. But a hammer keeps your hand from getting all bloody."
"I just wanted to share some thoughts about the recent primary election. First, it seems to me that there were more campaign signs posted around our community than I have seen in the past. I like it when citizens post a yard sign in support of their candidate(s). It tells me a lot about my neighborhood. It tells me even more when they post 6, 8, 10 signs for the same candidate. It tells me I should not vote for their candidate. The same applies when I see a group of people (mob) hanging out as close to the polling places as possible and jumping up and down and waving their signs in my face. Does anyone really believe that a voter would decide at the last minute to vote for their candidate? I hope all voters have studied the candidates and issues and have decided on who they will support long before they head to the polls. It tells me again that I already made the right decision in my support of another candidate. Finally, I see some of the political signs have been removed, but many are still in place. Hopefully we will not have to look at the remaining signs until November. A responsible candidate should pull their signs for a while before beginning again to seek votes."
"Ever wonder why we have unethical and illegal acts at the national levels of politics? It all starts here at home, folks, when we elect candidates who, in the dead of night, blanket voting precincts with their signs and remove signs of opposing candidates. To what shameful lengths will some candidates go to be elected? Wake up voters!"
"Yesterday (Sunday, August 5th). I was entering my sub-division, Hidden Acres and had to wait behind all the traffic of people dropping their cars off for repair at a residential home! As I was approaching the third house on the left I had to wait because a commercial tow truck was trying to back into the driveway and there were cars parked on the street on both sides so no one from either direction could move, plus there were about eight cars on the lawn. There were two cars coming the other way who were also waiting. This is also where the Chairman and CEO of Rockdale County Administrative Assistant lives and she also gave me all the excuses. I know he doesn't live here or he'd put a stop to it. I have attended three commission or civil association meetings to complain about this. I have contracted all three commissioners via e-mail, one also by phone. I have had the chief of staff Mr. Pritchet follow me out of a meeting to get the "particulars," he told me they were working on it! The director of zoning told me that they were putting everyone in his department in Rockdale county t-shirts to add credibility to them and they were going to help enforce the codes? I have sent messages which were readat zoning public meetings against new codes and zoning since they can't or refuse(kinda likethe President not enforcing theimmigration laws -- maybe that is the Chairman's roll model)toenforce what we already have on the books. In the past I have complained to the department head. She has given me almost every excuse possible. The only reason she didn't give me every excuse was I ended the discussion out of frustration. The only member of her staff who tried to do something about it got laid off the week after he told the property owner he would give him a $500 fine. We also got tractor cabs, dump trucks parked in this subdivision. Why? Because they can without being hassled. I realize they don't have anywhere else to go. The county should help with that situation so there is a safe place for them to park these rigs. I also suggested that the county use the civic associations to help enforce the codes. Easy enough to train willing volunteers willing to keep keep their neighborhoods clean and safe. The sheriff and police department has volunteer members, The library has them. There are dozens of citizens willing to work and keep their communities safe and lawful all over this country. Qhy are we different? Then what about the tax money we are not collecting? Eight or 10 cars per weekend at least $50 per car, not to mention the business license fees? Thats OK the commission will just raise your property taxes instead of enforcing the laws. They all know who I am. They should learn who you are if you agree with this letter. Shoot an e-mail or a phone call to the commissioners especially the Chairman and CEO."
"I understand gay people fighting back when they are physically hurt in the street by gay bashers, but this Dan Cathy was just stating his opinion. That is still OK in American isn't it? It isn't intolerant. He is isn't refusing service to gay people. I am sure there are gay people working for the organization too. I get tired of some of the gay movements trying to bully us into believing what they believe about their sexual behavior. I try to be nice to everyone no matter who they are and am completely against people abusing gays because of their lifestyle choice. But, don't tell me I am intolerant because I have a different opinion than you. I am tolerating a lot more than I want of these gay bullies."
