Before our daughter Joy came into the world, it's safe to say I did most of the cooking and my husband Kevin did most of the cleaning in the kitchen. That is just how we do it our house. Kevin just happens to be "cool," if you will, in the kitchen.
But since we've had Joy, I can promise you that Kevin has been in the kitchen way more than I have and he still is cleaning it, too. I'm blessed to have him.
With all that said, Rita Wasson, a dear friend of our family, sent in this recipe. It couldn't have been sent at a more perfect time because Kevin cooked this one night when we just needed something fast, easy and wanted to try something new to eat.
Kevin was able to whip it quickly and the cleanup was easy, too. He used two dishes to make the meal, one to mix the ingredients in and one to bake the bacon-cheese pull-apart biscuits in.
It is a comfort dish, one that can be thrown in the oven when company comes, or saved for those busy holiday mornings, which are just around the corner.
It was the perfect combination of ingredients as well. The cheese wasn't overpowering and the bacon added some crunch. If you aren't a bacon fan, you could replace the bacon with some cooked sausage instead.

Bacon-cheese pull-aparts
Start to finish: approximately 45 minutes
One egg
2 tablespoons of milk
One can of Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers refrigerated original biscuits
One 2- to 3-ounce package of precooked bacon, or bacon bits
3 ounces ( cup) of shredded cheddar cheese
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
Beat egg and milk in a large bowl with a wire whisk until smooth.
Separate dough into eight biscuits.
Cut each biscuit into quarters.
Gently stir biscuit pieces into egg mixture to coat evenly.
Spoon mixture into sprayed dish.
Arrange biscuits into a single layer.
Sprinkle bacon bits and cheese across the top.
Bake for 23 to 28 minutes or until golden brown.
Tip: If you prefer, bacon bits and cheese can be folded into the egg mixture and then additional bacon bits and cheese can be sprinkled across the top.
