Polls to open in runoff elections

CONYERS -- Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for voting in three runoff elections.

Two runoff elections will be on the Democratic Primary Runoff Election ballot State House Districts 92 and 113. Seven precincts will vote in the District 92 election and one precinct is involved in the District 113 election.

Candidates for District 92 are Tonya P. Anderson and Doreen Williams. This election will be for all voters in the Conyers, Lakes, Milstead and Sheffield precincts and only a portion of voters in the Flat Shoals, Hightower and Olde Town precincts, according to the Board of Elections.

Candidates for District 113 are incumbent Pamela Dickerson and Sharon Sawyer. This will be for Fieldstone precinct voters only, according to the Board of Elections.

All Rockdale precincts will be open for voting in the nonpartisan election for the Board of Education Post 5 candidates, Tony Dowdy and Willie J. Washington.

Residents who were registered to vote by July 2 are eligible to vote in the runoff. Voters are not required to have voted in the primary election on July 31 in order to vote in the runoff, but if they did, they have to vote on the same party ballot as the primary.

Just got back from voting. I was the 36th person all day in my precinct. Does nobody in Rockdale care? Pathetic!

That makes you almost 3% of the voters in that precinct. and who says a vote doesn't count?
