Rockdale school board recognizes Gant

The Rockdale County Board of Education recently recognized newly retired Patsy Gant, whose last day was Jan. 24. She worked in Rockdale County Public Schools for 22 years, including 21 as the board's secretary. She attended more than 500 meetings over the years. "For twenty-one years she has worked behind the scenes to keep our board meetings, organized, compliant and running like well-oiled machine," said school board Chair Wales Barksdale. "She is a wonderful person and although we wish her a happy retirement, she will be greatly missed." Pictured are school board members Wales Barksdale, Katrina Young, Don McKinney, Darlene Hotchkiss, Jean Yontz, Brad Smith and Jim McBrayer and RCPS Superintendent Samuel King.
