Rockdale home destroyed by fire

CONYERS -- A Rockdale County family was displaced Monday after their Tucker Mill Road home was destroyed by fire.

According to Rockdale Fire Rescue, firefighters were called to the house at about 6 p.m. Monday where they found the front porch of the house fully involved in flames. According to Fire Rescue, the fire spread rapidly into the attic and throughout the home.

The occupants were at home at the time the fire broke out, according to Sharon Webb, public information officer for Fire Rescue, but no one was injured in the blaze. The family of one adult and two children was able to make other living arrangements, according to Webb.

Six fire fighting apparatus responded to the fire call, along with 20 fire personnel.

The home was a total loss, according to Webb, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

I'm not looking for a fight, but when was the last time they saved a home? Front porch on fire upon arrival, 6 trucks, 20 men/women, and the home was a total loss. Sad in several ways.

I know, I'm not a firefighter, and I wasn't there, but still...just wondering.

Why don't you ask a firefighter how it became a total loss? How about asking one when is the last time they saved a home? Then you won't have to wonder (or insinuate) anymore.
