CONYERS --A Rockdale County man is in jail on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a knife during commission of a felony following a fight on Salem Woods Drive.
According to a report by the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, Rajau Antynne Darrisaw, 29, of 3531 Southgate Lane, Conyers, was arrested June 23 after he allegedly cut another man across the forehead with a butcher knife.
According to RCSO Investigator Michael Camp, Darrisaw was at a get-together on Salem Woods Drive when he went down the street and approached a woman who was sitting alone on the porch of her boyfriend's house. The woman reportedly refused Darrisaw's advances and went inside the house. When her boyfriend got home, she told him what had happened.
The boyfriend and Darrisaw subsequently became involved in a fight in the street in which Darrisaw was allegedly armed with a large butcher knife.
A third man reportedly tried to break up the fight and sustained a large cut to his forehead.
Camp said Darrisaw was also injured in the fight and sustained a broken upper jaw. As he was lying the street he was allegedly run over by a motorcycle driven by the knife-wound victim, who drove himself to Newton Medical Center on the motorcycle for treatment.
According to the incident report, the large butcher knife was found near a pool of blood at the intersection of Salem Woods Drive and Salem Woods Trace.
Camp said Darrisaw is the only person charged at this time, but more charges may be pending against others involved in the incident.

Good job to police. This is on the judges now. The judges in this county need to get creative and draw the line. we have to think of the safety of our community and our officers walking in on that situation. This is out of hand. You guys have to send a message that will make people afraid to be drunk in the street fighting. You are apparently not doing it. The cops did their part. Now you do yours!

This guy has been arrested numerous times since 2000. In 2005 he was give 10 years....obviously that didn't take. Nice job judges, you keep letting the criminals out and the public gets hurt, well done.

This kind of comment will never help our town. Plus your wrong. It's not black people that have this problem, It's dumb people. I have been at parties with a bunch of dumb white people that ended up similarly. So now, you have taken away the focus from these idiots who are hurting our community and tried to make some point about race superiority, This kind of comment angers good black folks for no reason. We have to leave race out of it if we expect them to quit playing the card.

I was in the military in my younger days. Many parties turned into fights until I learned to hang out with cooler people. But they were all white.

johndoemo, really? The FACTS are out there, look them up. If it hurts your sensibilities then toughen up. The VAST MAJORITY of VIOLENT crime in the county is done by blacks, and ya know what, The "good" blacks know it as well. Read the police blotter, look at the Rockdale jail rollcall, check who does the violent crime versus who does "dumb" crimes, there is a pattern....very definite one....which is FACTUAL. I don't need to look up facts. I read the paper everyday and live in this town too. My son got it trouble in middle school for calling a girl ugly. She was ugly, but there was no nice reason to say so. No good came from it. No good will come from you saying that black people are bad. First off, Black people are not bad. Second, there is nothing to be done about the actual bad people by pointing out skin color. Their skin color doesn't make them stab and run over people with a motorcycle. My sensibilities are not hurt. But if we are going to work together in this town, we are going to have to wake up and vote in tough zoning requirements, tough crime penalties, and expel some kids from schools. That will take voting together and if ALL black folks think that all white folks are as stupid as you are with these idiotic comments, then they will keep voting purely on color. We have to work together. Again, you have taken the focus away from these idiots and said, " Hey look at me! I think all blacks are bad!!!" That is not focusing on the issue.

There was no point of "race superiority" there. Perception is reality, and truth is found by looking at the facts. Just looking at the ratio in the population is enough to at least substantiate the claims.
Instead of getting all bent out of shape about, why aren't you doing something to change that image? White people can't fix the problem as even looking at a black person causes the race cards to fall out of every sleeve. So if the white folks can't fix it, and the black folks won't, then where does it lead? It leads to an UN-United States, and, "divided we fall". The Marxists in D.C. Are counting on it. Challenging everything anyone says, and flashing the race card isn't going to do anything more than make it worse. People, of all colors, have just as much right to have an opinion as you. You don't have to agree with them, it is not racist to think...only when it's turned into some action. The first thing should be to get over the adolescent "everybody hates me" syndrome.
