Jay Rhoads

Jay T. Rhoads, age 69 of Conyers, passed away Sunday July 1, 2012 after a long battle with heart disease and diabetes. He is survived by his wife, Carol Rhoads, and his three children; Carol Ann, Daniel, and Jennifer Rhoads. He grew up in Philadelphia and eventually made his way to Atlanta through working with Delta. He served his country in the Air Force. He always loved flying and enjoyed building models after his flying days were over. He was a convert to the faith of Catholicism and raised his children to have a strong faith just like his. He met his wife, who is also a convert to Catholicism, at a prayer group. Both were praying for the vocation of holy orders, but God had other plans. He was the model husband as he showed a great example to his children how a husband is supposed to be. He loved math, astronomy, meteorology, and cats. He loved to read and had an extensive amount of books to continue to give him great knowledge. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10am at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Afterwards he will be buried at the Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers.
