Mrs. Joyce H. Harmon October 22, 1930 – July 19, 2012 Mrs. Joyce Hightower Harmon, age 81 of Conyers, formerly of Griffin passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Harmon was born in Griffin, Georgia, October 22, 1930. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Grace Stubbs Hightower, her husband Reverend Winston H. Harmon who passed away in August, 2008, sister-in-law Josephine Blissett, brother-in-law, James Harmon. Mrs. Harmon graduated from Spalding High School, where she played the drums in the Band. She worked for over 30 years with Dr.’s Oslag and Stuckey before retiring from Dr. Patel’s office. Mrs. Harmon was a member of Conyers First Baptist Church, a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class and the XYZ’s. Mrs. Harmon’s husband pastored many churches in and around Griffin where she was faithful to his ministry and used her musical talent’s playing the organ and piano. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Henry and Trish Harmon; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Bill Weldon, Regina and Russ Jones; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Eleanor and Riley Sanders; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Joyce H. Harmon will be on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 2:00pm at Conyers First Baptist Church. Dr. Jeff Myers and Reverend Howard Greer will officiate.
