CONYERS -- A driver who crashed into a vacant house on Old Salem Road Friday morning has been charged with DUI, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office.
Dontrell Demby, 34, of a Honey Creek Road address, has been charged with DUI-alcohol and failure to maintain lane, according to the RCSO. A male passenger in the vehicle sustained superficial injuries, according to the RCSO. He was not charged.
Rockdale County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of the accident at 1645 Old Salem Road and reported that a Ford Expedition traveling eastbound on Old Salem had veered off the side the road and into the middle of the house.
Fire and Rescue stabilized the walls of the house until the vehicle could be removed by a tow truck.
According to the RCSO, the driver said she and her passenger had been partying since the night before. The passenger was also apparently intoxicated, according to the RCSO.
Demby's bond was set at $4,062.
