C. K. Braswell, Jr., age 83, of Conyers, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Horis A. Ward’s Rockdale Chapel at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Truett Gannon officiating. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. A Georgia native, Mr. Braswell was a US Navy WWII veteran who retired from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and was a big Georgia Football Fan, coached many years with the Mighty Mites Football program. As a coach, he impacted many and will be fondly remembered by them for many years to come. He is survived by: sons, Kim Braswell, III and Bob (Donna) Braswell; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Braswell, daughter, Sandra Braswell and son, Gary Braswell. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
