Janice M. Galloway of Covington, GA passed away Friday June 8, 2012 at 2:30PM at Abbey Hospice surrounded by her family and friends while her son played Amazing Grace on the keyboard. She was born on December 13, 1940 in Atlanta, GA to James A. and Mamie Nash McKinney. She worked at Georgia State University, First Baptist Church of Atlanta, and the Home Mission Board of The Southern Baptist Convention. She became a homemaker to take care of her son after he was born. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and was a care-giver to her parents until their death. She will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. Galloway is survived by husband Charles Thomas Galloway, Jr of Covington, GA; son and daughter-in-law Charles and Katie Galloway III of Alpharetta, GA; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Lida McKinney of Blacksburg, VA; brother-in-law Carl W. Galloway; sisters-in-law Betty Ardis, Deborah Murray all of Sumter, SC. She is preceded in death by her parents James A. and Mamie Nash McKinney. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday June 14, 2012 at Covington Christian Church with Pastor Tim Bolen and Rev. Richard Kiser officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00PM. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Covington Christian Church.
