CONYERS -- The Conyers Police have released photos taken from video surveillance footage of the June 8 armed robbery of the Subway restaurant on Sigman Road in the hopes that the two suspects will be recognized.

Anyone who thinks they may know the identity of one or both of them, or who has information concerning the robbery, should call Sgt. Chris Moon of the Conyers Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 770-929-4206 or email him at chris.moon@conyersga.com.

The two suspects entered the restaurant, located in the Publix shopping center at 1379 Sigman Road, around 10:15 p.m. armed with black semi-automatic handguns.

"One suspect jumped over the counter and the second suspect walked around the counter," according to a printed press release from the CPD.

The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money and left through the back of the restaurant, last seen running east on Sigman Road. No vehicle was observed.

One suspect was described as wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, a black bandanna over his face, a black rag over his hair and black shoes. The second suspect was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark bluejeans and gray shoes.

It would b nice if the RC would post peoples comments as opposed to censoring them (foul language excluded), afterall, isn't a paper all about free speech and covering the truth?

I hate this picture. I hate that this is happening in Conyers at a subway. I wish our police and judges were sending a stronger message against crime. The witnesses said they fled on foot. were all the neighborhoods canvassed? Thugs pointing guns at cashiers is not what I want in my town!

it is hard to canvass an area when you only have 2-3 officers on the north side at any givin time. One officer can't do it by himself and backup is a ways off

The CPD doesn't like your side of town either?

SO what is the plan to fix it? Just saying that it cant be done right now because we don't have enough officers???? That sounds like excuses. Not a plan.

That's why we need Ferguson as the sheriff. To bring that sorry conyers PD into the Rockdale way, get more pay for the officers, & get them a National Accreditation (which will get grant $$$$$ Oppurtunities ). The crime is coming from Fulton & Dekalb lets elect someone who has trained Fulton deputies that turned around and increased arrest to the point the criminal element is coming this way.and leaving Fulton.

Zoey, Do you think Ferguson would train his officers to automatically take the word of all black witnesses? Or do you think he should make sure they corroborate everyone's story? The reason I ask is that you did not like when they double checked the story of the witness/victim at this subway. You seemed to think it was racist.

How about a 24-7 Combat air patrol. Black hawk with snipers. Make the sniper rifles tranquilizer guns. Tranq the criminals then fly them to the bayou south of New Orleans and drop them off. It would be cheaper and much more effective.

Maybe we should emulate the old west, in the old saloons they would station an armed guard in a tall chair overlooking the establishment. That was a strong deterrent against robberies and such.
