Robert Lee “Bobby” Wilbanks Jr. of Covington, GA passed away Sunday June 24, 2012 at his residence. He was born on October 13, 1943 in Madison, GA to Robert Lee and Dorothy Schell Wilbanks Sr. He was a member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church. He made several mission trips to Mexico and was just certified as a lay speaker through the Methodist church. In his earlier years he coached little league baseball and football and was co-founder of the Covington Arm-Wrestling Club. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and was a genuine loving and caring person. Mr. Wilbanks is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Andy and Kenda Barnes of Porterdale, GA, Jody and Shelly Wilbanks of Covington, GA, Bubba and Susan Wilbanks of Porterdale GA; grandchildren Jessalyn Barnes, Drew Barnes, Jordan Wilbanks, Kenleigh Barnes, Gracie Wilbanks, Cody Brooks; brothers Thomas Wilbanks, Larry Wilbanks, Darrell Wilbanks; sisters Marion Parker, Dorothy Jean Stewart, Vicki Ann Muzyka. He is preceded in death by wife Barbara Martin Wilbanks, son Robert Lee “Chip” Wilbanks III, parents Robert Lee and Dorothy Schell Wilbanks Sr., brothers Ricky Wilbanks, and Terrell Wilbanks. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday June 27, 2012 at Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church with Doug Doster officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
