Nancy Humphries Owensby, 56, of Rockdale County, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Hospice House of Conyers following her long battle with cancer. She was born February 8, 1956 to Homer Walker Humphries, Jr. and Eloise Perry Humphries. Mrs. Owensby was preceded in death by her parents, and sister DeLoyce Anderson Bullington. Mrs. Owensby was a long time employee of Conyers Insurance Agency. She cared for and had a special rapport with her customers. Survivors include her beloved son Steven Paul Owensby, daughter-in-law Teryn and grandson Gavin, of Covington. She is also survived by sisters: Elaine Humphries Cole and brother-in-law Randy Cole of Covington; Rosemary Scaringe and brother-in-law William Scaringe of Florida. Aunts: Jean Perry Long and husband Edward Long of Conyers; and Wylena Humphries Hall of California. Uncle: Jack Perry, Jr. and his wife Gladys Perry of Big Canoe, GA, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Service for Mrs. Owensby will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Covington First United Methodist Church, Senior Pastor Dr. Doug Gilreath and Associate Pastor Jan McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors at 12:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the church. Interment will follow at Scot Ward Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers.
