Students from both Lorraine Elementary and Davis Middle have watched the daily progress of this park for months. My son asked yesterday why people were using it since they hadn't had the opening ceremony yet. Well, now we know. It was held Monday, most likely during school hours with little to no announcement beforehand. Way to go, commissioners. You showed these kids it just doesn't pay to be interested in what goes on in the county! As long as you got your picture in the paper that's what counts!

Why is Hank Johnson there? I thought he lived in Dekalb County. Oh! I forgot Oden is there.

Hank is there because it's election season. And because with redistricting, he now has to convince Rockdale voters that he cares about Rockdale. I'm sure some people will fall for it.

I'm going to enjoy the park and trail. Thankfully, there are more of us who appreciate the work that went into it, than those who don't.
