CONYERS -- A home invasion at Arbor Creek apartments on Main Street early Monday morning left a teenager with a severe cut to his head.
The Conyers Police Department is looking for a black male who reportedly broke through the living room window of the apartment and fought with four males who had been sleeping inside. The suspect reportedly picked up an end table, swung it and struck the 17-year-old victim in the head. The glass in the table caused the laceration to his head.
A female resident of the apartment told police that she was in her bedroom asleep when she was awakened at about 2:50 a.m. by the sound of glass breaking. She told police she went into the living room where her friends, four males, had gathered. They all listened for other noises and heard the kitchen window being shattered from the outside, then heard kicking at the front door. When the kicking stopped, an unknown man shattered the living room window and climbed into the room.
The suspect reportedly started fighting with the men in the room, got the cell phone of one of the men, and fled heading east.
National EMS responded to the scene, treated the victim's wound, and transported him to Rockdale Medical Center.
The CPD's K9 officer Brody was called to the scene to attempt to track the suspect, but the track was unsuccessful.
In other police news, a woman told police that a black male wearing a red hoodie snatched her purse in the TJ Maxx parking lot on Ga. Highway 138.
The victim said she was walking to her car from the store at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday when the suspect ran from behind her and snatched her purse from her shopping cart.
Two men in the parking lot chased the suspect, who ran toward Hunting Creek subdivision and got away.
The purse was described as an eggshell-colored Coach purse containing $100 in cash, a Nokia cell phone, the victim's Georgia drivers license, and several credit cards.

There are just to many things in this story that don't add up. Why didn't they call the PoPo while this guy was trying to kick in the doors. Then he breaks a window and beats up four males, steals thier cellphone and finally the K-9 can't pick up a scent....... Ain't believing all this!

So she heard glass breaking then went into the living room and "listened" until she heard the kitchen window break, the door being kicked, then the final break in and entrance of the table swinging assaulter. So what was the first glass that broke that originally woke her up? And what was he after? Surely he wasnt going through all that to get a cell phone.
