Joey Bedingfield, a seasonal employee with Have An Ice Day, is shown making layers and layers of ice earlier this week at the skating rink scheduled to open today at the Olde Town Pavilion. Owner Daniel Ferguson said he is excited to be back in Conyers for a 12th year. Ferguson said that making the many layers of ice, which is 2 to 3 inches thick, takes about 48 hours. It took three weeks to set up the rink this year, he said. Though the process usually takes two weeks, the crew did extra maintenance this year. The rink will be open through Feb. 26.
